Bravo!!! The late nights and your daily hustle have finally paid off. You now have clients, projects a team. Now, what? A solid foundation of Online Business Management systems. They help prevent missed deadlines and poor team communication.

So, how do you do this? A room-sized whiteboard and post it notes? An option, but a little hard to carry with you and it probably does not fit into your plans for location independence.

So off you go to perform a Google search and you end up taking “a trip of light fantastic” down the rabbit-hole of too many options. The solution is an online business management system that DOESN’T make you want to scratch your eyes out. Read below and see what we love here at thinkCHARM.

1. Asana

Asana is a task management tool for teams. You can assign a task to a team member, give them a due date and then track it through to its completion.  You can also assign subtasks, forward attachments, have discussions, leave status notes, attach tags and followers.

The Cool Stuff: Tasks can be viewed in calendar mode, it is iPhone and Android compatible, tasks can be added by email and then synced to your Google Calendar or iCalendar, Key Tasks can be color coded and/or highlighted. That’s not even the tip of the iceberg –  To learn more about ASANA, click here.

Price: Asana is free for up to 15 users. For Teams over 15 – $8 per member/month (billed on an annual basis.

2. Google Docs/Drive

Google Docs is an online program that allows you to create and format text (i.e. Microsoft Word) while collaborating with others. It is also iPad and Android compatible.

The Cool Stuff: You can invite others to collaborate on documents, review the revisions history then download the document as a word, pdf, HTML, open office, RTF, or zip file, translate documents into various languages, and work with documents off- line. Wherever you are- so are your files. A nod to location freedom.

Price: Free!

3. Slack

Slack is a “messaging application for teams”. It is made up of channels for a project, topic or team. Everyone can then see what is posted on the channel, for more private matters you can set up a “private channel. If you require one on one communication, you can also send direct messages.

The Cool Stuff: Drag and Drop files, it is portable so take with you, it links in with cloud, twitter, Mail Chimp and more and it also has Video Guides for training. There are tons of integrations as well.

Price: The Basic Plan is Free Free Free. If you want more options, you can upgrade to Standard or Plus.

So there you have it. Since all three of my top choices are free – go and “kick the tires” to see if they will help you and your team stay on point and in touch. And congratulations – you are on your way to achieving your goals with good Online Business Management Systems you can do it efficiently while keeping your clients and team all on the same page which equals fewer things for you to stress out about.

With love from Colorado

Sitting at Corinne for brunch with my three beverages – orange juice for morning sickness, water for life, and coffee for my brain – I think I’ve finally adapted to the altitude and caught up on the lack of sleep. I’ve been in Denver since last Friday for The Failure Ball, seeing some of my…

Unexpected news

I’m still reeling from Wednesday. Making good on a campaign promise, Biden’s administration provided student loan relief to millions – including myself. As a recipient of Pell grants, meaning I was very poor when I went to college, $20,000 of my student loans were effectively wiped away with the stroke of a pen. I had…
