Getting a domain and hosting

You’ll need to buy a domain and hosting. Yes, they are different, and yes, you can buy them through the same provider. I recommend Dreamhost for both.

How to register your domain

  1. Under Domains, click Registrations
  2. See if your domain is available.

Hot Tip: Not sure what your domain should be? Your name or business name is a good place to start. If .com isn’t available, don’t stress too much about it. There are so many extensions now, there is no reason to feel like not getting the .com is going to make you miss out on traffic.

  1. Purchase your domain.
  2. Next, upgrade to the basic hosting plan.

Easy, right?

Onward to bigger and better things!

It took me 7 years to find sustainable success. How long will it take you?

I’ve been having a lot of great conversations with my colleagues about what it takes to be successful in business, especially around how long it takes. The common theme I’ve heard from people I respect and have watched grow alongside me is that it takes many of us 7 years. SEVEN YEARS?! I hear you…
